March 22nd, 1976 Alderman Ranger advised that the first Annual B.C. Ringette Tournament will be held in Port Coquitlam next weekend starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and continuing through all day on Sunday. Alderman Ranger further advised that. the Tournament will involve 12 teams, ages 6-10 and 11-16 from Langley, Aldergrove and Port Coquitlam; also, there will be delegates from Victoria, Chilliwack, and Abbotsford, and that admission to this event is free. Alderman Keryluk stated he would also like to thank the R.C.M.P. for participating in the Tug-of-War competition held during the Winter Wind—up Carnival last weekend, and he suggested that a letter of appreciation in that regard be sent to Inspector M.A. Young, i/c of the Detachment’ con- cerned, Alderman Keryluk then advised of a complaint he had received that a number of gravel trucks passing through the City lately have apparently been poorly loaded with the result that gravel is sprayed onto the roads in turn- ing corners, etc., and he suggested that this be investigated. Alderman Traboulay referred to a letter received from the Mary Hill Community & Ratepayers Association under date of March 15th, 1976, wherein it was mentioned that the funds for improving the 2.3 acre park acquired in that area were used elsewhere, and in answer to his query, Alderman Ranger advised the funds were used for the tennis courts on Patricia Avenue. Alderman Traboulay inquired as to the possibility of acquiring the services of planners from the Advisory Committee of the G.V.R.D. Livable Regional Program to assist the Planning & Zoning Committee in its studies on the area South of Kingsway West of the Coquitlam River, and Mayor Campbell advised he would check to see if this could be arranged. Alderman Traboulay referred to a letter from the Friends of the Library inviting his attendance at a meeting on the "precarious" position of the Library, and to his query, Alderman Ranger advised that this meeting is scheduled for April 7th, 1976 in the Hyde Creek Centre at 7:30 p.m. Alderman Traboulay then advised he had the opportunity to speak to Mr. George Kerster, M.L.A. for this area on Saturday, and that Mr. Kerster had assured him the Coquitlam Hospital was still viable; further, that he and The Honourable Hugh Curtis, Minister of Housing, at the request of Mayor J.L.
