May 25th, 1978 City of Port Coquitlam City Hall 2272 McAllister Port Coquitlam, B. C. Attention: Mayor and Council Dear Sirs: Re: Burning Permits . The building and protection along with the Environmental Committee of the City of Port Coquitlam met with a group of concerned developers May 23rd last, in an attempt to resolve the contentious issue of the City's refusal to allow burning on a 12 month period, for the purpose of disposal of stumps and clean wood debris from new development sites. Pollution and public nuisance appeared ‘to De the main concerns of municipal committees. However, no positive direction or solutions were recommended. -L. Pollution: All neighbouring municipalities, Surrey to the south, Coquitian to the west, North Vancouver District to the north and Pitt Meadows to the east permit controlled burming of stumps and debris off development sites with adequate safety precautions. (ie: 100' clearance of any combustible material, bulldozer in attendance during the time of the fire and a 24 hour fire watch if the fire is to die out at night.) ooed
