page + Julia Galloway Workshop by Aaron Nelson Drawing on a broad spectrum of influences, ranging from Minoan ceramics to miniature Persian painting to poetry, potter Julia Galloway seeks to create vessels that are “Joyous, intimate, and weave into our daily lives through use and decoration, embellishing our living spaces with character and elegance.” Julia is a strong advocate for the notion that beautiful objects are essential in both our living and working spaces, “a pitcher decorates the mantel when it is not full of lemonade, a cream and sugar set remind us of close conversations. A mug with slight texture inside the handle allows our fingers to discover uniqueness.” Currently Julia is Artist-in-Residence at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana. Being in this challenging and stimulating environment allows her to further her explorations ir. cone six soda fired porcelain.
