C. V3M 6G2 Attention: Ms. Lesley Brown Program Assistant Dear Sirs: Re: ROUTE 7 - PITT RIVER BRIDGES COUNTERFLOW PROPOSAL The Ministry is currently undertaking a functional planning study in which counterflow lanes are being evaluated for the Pitt River Bridges. The proposed lane on the east side of the bridge will entail placing of fill to widen the approaches within the perimeter of the dyke. The installation of underwater cables berieath the swing span of each bridge will also be required. As part of this effort, a small amount of dredging may be required if burying the cable is deemed necessary. This has yet to be confirmed. Attached is the completed FREMP application and 20 copies of the conceptual drawings for review and comments. Although this construction will not proceed for at least two years, the Ministry is preparing a report to be completed in September, 1993 in which all issues and concerns regarding this proposal are to be ideniified. A timely response at the planning stage will enable the Ministry to assess the feasibility of the proposal and proceed with preliminary design. Please call the undersigned at 356-7827 if you have questions.
