ynailaas THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM TO B.R. Kirk DATE. Aarch 25, 1992 City Administrator FROM: LR. Zahynacz, P. Eng. City Engineer SUBJECT: Designation of One-way Lane - E. of Shaughnessy between Elgin & Kingsway (Public Works Committee Meeting, March 17, 1992) That Council designate the lane east of Shaughnessy between Elgin and Kingsway as a one-way lane for traffic going north. The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum dated March 5, 1992 from the Project/Traffic Technician regarding a letter from Paul Barber of 2652 Shaughnessy Street requesting that the lane behind his business be designated as a one-way lane. During the rush hour lane access to Danny’s Meats and to the Salvation Army Store is not available due to the vehicles that are short-cutting through the lane at this location. The short-cutting traffic vehicles travel east on Kingsway over the Kingsway Overpass then tum south through the lane, then west on Elgin and north on Shaughnessy. If this lane is designated one-way northbound, then the eastbound vehicles on Kingsway would have to use Mary Hill Road and Elgin Road to access Shaughnessy. 7 The Committee noted that this alternate route through Mary Hill Road and Elgin will only be slightly longer for the vehicles from Kingsway wishing to access Shaughnessy Street.
