FIELO INVESTIGATIONS For this study, the field investigations consist of the following: 1. Establish the perimeter of the soccer field and parking lot by preliminary survey. 2. Clear adaquate paths through the heavily wooded area to permit further field investigations. Complete a total of ti test digs (8 for soccer field and 3 for parking lot) to establish the sub-surface soils profile for this area. Survey existing ground. elevations for quantity determinations. The above fieid work was completed in the middle -of July This year. : GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF AREA (refer to ANNEX A) 1 The focation of the proposed soccer fieid and parking facility is bordered by what appears to be an old river bed. to the west, Welcher Road Allowance to the north, and the existing Welcher Dump Road to the. east.and south. - The only access to the site is from the Welcher Dump Road. This area-is heavily overgrown with underbrush, maples, alders, and the occasiona! mature evergreens.. The ground is ralatively flat although it tends ‘to slope slightly from east to west. The average measured ground elevation is 4.66 m geodetic which is similar to the.aerial photo spot elevations assigned to the surrounding undeveloped flood plains. Although a reasonable amount of rainfall had falien prior to and during the field investi- gation, no evidence of water ponding was detected in the area except within the old river bed which is some 2 meters flower than the average ground elevation. . 16 Sete tb artiace teh hee A PUSS Wai cba kn
