Alderman Mabbett stated in his opinion the report did not provide
enough detailed information on the proposed "Shaughnessy. Corridor"
Alderman Traboulay suggested that the report be received.

That the report from the Planning and Zoning Committee, dated
September 21st, 1981 be received.
Carried.
Alderman Mabbett voted against the resolution.

That By-law No. 1848 be read a third time.

Carried.

Aldermen Gates, Mabbett and Muldoon voted against the

Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution
Alderman Gates expressed concern regarding "spot" zoning and stated with
the opening of the Mary Hill By-pass the area may be required for other
requirements. Alderman Mabbett stated in his opinion third reading of

By-law Ne. 1848 should be deferred. Alderman Traboulay advised he would

be voting in favour of third reading of By-law No. 1848 and stated that

the proposed development would require widening the south end of Shaughnessy

Street which would help the traffic and that the development would help

the problem of housing. Alderman Muldoon expressed concern regarding the |

lack of advertising undertaken with respect to this application and stated
"she would be in favour of deferring the matter until residents could |

express their views Alderman Wright stated in his opinion residents have

not been greatly opposed and that experts have agreed this development |

is appropriate for the area Alderman Keryluk expressed concern that chis =

application has already been delayed and stated that people need housing

“and that in his opinion the development would improve this corner. '
