C., V3C 28, Dear Mayor Laking; The Coquitlam and District Safety Council would like at this time to make a special reouest for monies to obtain new Elock Furent signs for Fort Cocuitlamse 500 Block #arents. Because the Coquitlam and District Safety Council includes 3 Iuniciralities, we feel it only proper thet each tunicipality contribute to their own group. We have received favorable reaction from the other unicipaelities towards this request. Because of the constant problems of fading and breckdown ang tie reococuring expense of replacing the wax coated cardboard Sipms, & decision has been rezched provincially, then Canade wide te £0 to styreen Block Parent Signs. At a recent meeting of Couuitlam and District Safety Council and Block Parent Co-ordinators & decision was favorable for Coquitlum and District tc also conform with the other communities in B. C. ean well ag across Canede and hovefully replace our signs with the new styreen sins. fhe cost will be 50¢ per sign. We feel strongly eceinst asking volunteers to donate monies after their willingness to @onnte co freely of their time. The B. Cc. Safety Council hae committed then selves to pay for the minimum ordor of 7000 siyms to be derivered in February so each conmunity cen purcheee as neony a3 required. Our Block Parent Program works, I'm sure we don't herve to prove thet point We have one or the strongest and best organized yproyrams in the Province with total co-operation from everyone involved.
