CONFIDENTIAL -3- POLICING REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST TO THE MAYOR OF PORT COQUITLAM With reference to the section on page 2 entitled, “Number of Juveniles Involved this Month", please bear in mind that the figures shown only reflect the numbers of juveniles apprehended in connection with criminal offences. The figures do not reflect the numbers of juveniles involved in criminal offences but not apprehended. For example, I would suggest that at least half the breaking and entering and wilful damage offences are committed by juveniles. These comments are further to my discussion with Council at the regular Council Meeting on September 17th. During the month of August, our Port Coquitlam members concen- trated on evening activity by scheduling more men to work in the evening to deal with traditional summer trouble spots and curtail liquor and traffic offences. Policing activity in Port Coquitlam during August was of a routine nature. LMA) Atty — (G.J, DAVIS) IrfSpector OIC Coquitlam Detachment
