Re: Employment of Additional Firemen

With respect to the above noted subject, and the discussion
that occurred at the Council Committee meeting of June 19th, 1978, we would
suggest that it would be appropriate for Council to give consideration to
the following resolution in order that the decision taken In Committee may
be formally ratified:

"That in addition to the increase in strength of two men
in the City Fire Department authorized in the 1978 Budget, the Administration
be herewith instructed to employ two additional firemen, thus resulting in
a net increase in Fire Department strength in the year 1978 of four men.”
