THE CORPORATION OF THE CHY OF PORT COQUITLAM a\ ¢ J \ C , | : mor CO WU UU OCT 17 1977 TO; Mayor and Council oO October 13th, 1977 _ FROM: Public Works Committee Report from the Public Works Committee Meeting held Friday, October 7th, 1977 at 7:00 a.m. IN ATTENDANCE: Alderman E.W. Mabbett Alderman M.A. Thompson V.G. Borch, P. Eng. ITEM XL Re: Parking Regulations ~- Tyner Street A complaint has been received from a resident on Tyner Street that employees working at the businesses located on the east side of Tyner, south of Kingsway, are parking all day on the west side of Tyner even though parking is available on the east side of Tyner as well as in the parking lot provided as part of the development. : The Committee recommends that Two Hour Parking from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday be established on the west side of Tyner from Kingsway to Central Avenue. iTEM II Re: Lane North of Kern Chevrolet Attached is a copy of the Committee Report to Council dated September 16th, 1977 and a copy of the City Clerk's memorandum dated September 22nd, 1977. The Committee has reconsidered the Kern Chevrolet request and the petition from the residents and feels that the installation of a gate at Oxford Street would be a continuing problem particularly with respect to vandalism. The Committee recommends that the lane north of Kern Chevrolet be opened at Oxford and that diagonal speed bumps be installed and posted west of the body shop. Should this opening cause problems, then some other action will have to be taken. With reference to the request for a school crosswalk across Oxford Street at Westminster Avenue, this request is being processed in the normal manner with School District No. 43 and the R.C.M.P. “Respectfully submitted, rote vV.G.
