Dear Sirs and Madames:

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned with the traffic
situation on Columbia Avenue. Many accidents, and even more near
misses, have hepoened over the Past fow years, the latest two
incidents having tsken plece within a period of one week in the
1400 plock Columbia Avenue. ;

One @rea of particular concern is the sherp curve on the lower
part of Columbia Avenue. It is our request that the matter is
immediately looked into as for the feasibility of these suggestions:

spe+«d posting and warning signs
speed bumps

improvement of curve banking

higher curbing around street corner
Sidewalks

Our major concern is children, who are playing in front yards
and driveways, being hit by cars running out of control. The
street is also used as a main access to Kilmer School by local
children, .

Again, we urge you to look into this problem as soon as

possible, and we would appreciate an answer at your earliest
conveniences,
