DISTRICT OF COQUITLAM V1 BRUNETTE AVENUE, COQUITLAM, B.C. PHONE 526-361] V3K 168 , MAYOR J.L. TONN March 26, 1976 Mr. R.A. Freeman, City Clerk, City of Port Coquitlam, 2272 McAllister Avenue, , PORT COQUITLAM, 8.C. APR 5 1976 Dear Sir: Please find enclosed a copy of a letter directed to the Attorney General's Office expressing the deep concern the School District No. 43 Joint Family Division Committee has over the lack of availabie Family Court Workers servicing the School District No. 48 area. It appears conclusive, after discussions with the one Family Court Worker in our area, that as a result of the lack of available staff, the Family Court counselling service currently provided in this area is far from adequate and that there is a definite need for additional counsellors. By way of this letter, the Joint Family Division Committee respectfully requests that your Council endorse the attached letter and > along with appropriate comment, forward same to the Attorney General of British Colurnbia. Similar requests will be made of the Councils of Coquitlam and Port Moody; and of Judge PF. Byrne, the local court Judge; Mr. D. Mathieson, Supervisor Co-ordinator of Family Relations Act Services; and Mr. J. Thornson, local Welfare Administrator. Please make this correspondence available to your Council for their action. ‘Yours truly, fn * ; BLL = ¢ GEOL GEG B.
