TO: Mayor and ‘Council DATE: September 9, 1974 FROM: L.D. Pollock, City Administrator At the regular meeting of Council August 2, 1974 a report was considered from the Land Sale Committee regarding the sale of some City owned land on Chester Street. A copy of the report is attached. At the Council meeting the recommendation of the Committee was not adopted and it was referred back to the Committee to obtain further information on the status of Chester Street and the possibility of it becoming a thorough- fare in the future. , The matter has been reviewed by the City Engineer and he feels that the 66 foot road allowance presentiy existing on Chester Street. is adequate for the foreseeable future. The Engineer has commented that creating an addi- tional cul-de-sac exiting on to Chester Street from this proposed subdivision is adding another intersection to the block. However, the advantages of replotting the area as proposed by the developer has advantages that offset the disadvantage of an additional street at this location. This matter is referred back to Council for further consideration.
