Skating Club’s Precision Team. The team consisied of 12 skaters ranging in age from 10 to 17 years. Their first competition resulted ina gold medal at Kla How Ya in Kitimat in January. The team also compeled in February at the Northern B.C. Winter Games in Fort St. John bringing home yet another gold medal, At our annual Ice Carnival, the team performed their gold medal number to the delight of the audience, Their success would not have been possible without the level of commitment shown by the team members who at- tended every practice throughout the year, ‘The club ended a successful spring school with a total of 9) “Skaters participating in the vari- ous programs offered, Kidskate, a new program for 3-5 year olds had six skaters; Canskate (4 years and over} had 30; Hockey Powerskate also 30; CFSA test program had seven junior and 11 senior skaters; and Icebreakers, a new program for those 18 years and up, had seven participants. The interpretative programs are designed to provide you with a safe, relaxing and enjoyable tima in the park It will help you gain a daeper understanding of the B.C. Parks commitment to tha use of eur resources and facilities, as wall as a bettor appreciation of the natural and cultural rasources which are important to the environment, The interpretative program will featura special programs fro young people like Jary’s Rangers, Hug A Tree, Water Safety, and special interest nights with slide presentations on all types of lopics like bears, salmon enhancament, and bugs and slugs. In addition, there will be special event days; July 16 will leature Parks Day which will be a fun day including all kinds of family games Including a scavenger hunt, We will end the day with an old fashioned camo fire program including hot chocolate anc marshmallows. Later In the summar, August 13 to be exact, we will have Family Day with more fun activities planned for kids young and old.
