The City of Port Coquitlam MEMORANDUM B. Kirk DATE: June 11, 1993 City Administrator J. Maitland, City Treasurer - Deputy Administrator Kingsway Watermain Replacement We are looking at two watermain replacement projects this year: ° Kingsway from Bedford to the Coquitlam River at an estimated cost of $291,600; and Shaughnessy from Wilson to Pitt River Road at an estimated cost of $360,000 of which $80,300 would come from water DCCs and $48,150 from grants approved in 1992 by the Province. The City share of the cost of these projects after allowing for the DCC contribution and the approved grants is $522,550. After allowing for completion of carry forward projects from 1992, we have approximately $460,000 available for capital works. We have applied for provincial grants of $62,500 on Kingsway and en additional $33,850 on Shaughnessy. If we receive the Kingsway grant, then we can proceed with both projects. If we do not receive a grant on Kingsway, we will be faced with either cancelling the Shaughnessy project for this year (and the road improvements as well) or scaling down both the water and road project to meet the dollars available.
