March 4, 1991/047 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, March 4th, 1991, at 73:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Aldermen M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, R.H. Talbot, M.A. Thompson and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer I. Zahynacz, and Director of Planning C.R. Felip. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Taibot: That the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Council meeting held on February 25th, 1991 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay read the following proclamation: WHEREAS: The United Nations has declared March 8th to be International Women's Day; WHEREAS: Women the world over are the primary nurturers and health givers of the children-who will form the.basis for the well being of our society for future generations; . WHEREAS : Women consistently receive less remuneration and recognition for the roles they perform; AND WHEREAS: Women constitute a driving force to eradicate poverty, eliminate sexism and racism, and improve health and educational sources, NOW THEREFORE: 1, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM Friday, March 8th, 1991, as: “TNTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY" in the City of Port Coquitlam and instruct that. the "nited Nations flag be flown over our municipality in recognition of International Women's Day.
