SUBJECT: Existing Telephone Systems

RECOMMENDATION:

That the amount of $15,000 be authorized for the provision of consulting services to:

Phase I - review our existing phone systems, to develop specs for a new system and to
submit a pre-tender budget cost estimate for a new system, estimated cost
$10,000. |

issue tender, evaluate tenders and assist with implementation, estimated cost
$5,000.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

Our existing main switchboard was purchased in 1981 and is operating at its maximum,
we should at this time explore the options available to us and seriously consider replacing
the system. The proposed review will take into account the system at City Hall and each
of the City’s departments.

I would propose that the funds for the above come from our Tax Sale Reserve.
