From the City Administrator, July 7th, 1977 referring to arrangements made jointly with the John Dawson subdivision and proposed townhouse development in the Imperial-Westminster Avenue area for construction of a tennis court, whereby the latter would contribute the land therefore and John Dawson would construct the facility in exchange for the then $450.00 per lot impost fee for park purposes being waived, and: advising, as the waiving of that fee would be of more benefit to the builder than the subdivider of the land, and as the fee has now been increased to $800.00 “per lot for a total yield of approximately $24,000.00 — ample funds to construct a tennis court or other facility on the site to be provided by the towr':ouse development, that it would appéar to be :to the City's:.->- advantage to change the arrangements so that the special building permit fee will apply to all lots within the John Dawson subdivision. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That as recommended in a report from the City Administrator, July 7th, 1977, the arrangements made with John Dawson concerning his subdivision on Imperial Avenue, that the then $450.00 per lot impost fee for park purposes be waived in exchange for his constructing a tennis court on a site to be provided by the adjacent proposed townhouse development, be terminated; AND THAT the normal park fee, now increased to $800.00, apply in the regular manner to all building lots within that subdivision.Carried. Mr. Dawson was present at the meeting, and advised of the hardship being caused him by the developer of the proposed townhouse project not proceeding at this time due to the fact that constructzon of the tennis court was contingent on both developments being undertaken together.
