COU TO: Mayor and Aldermen May 18th, 1973 MAY 22 1973 FROM: Planning & Zoning Committee Minutes from the Planning & Zoning Committee meeting held Wednesday, May 16t! , 1973, In Attendance: Alderman P. Ranger, Chairman K.J. Stinson, Planning Officer. Item I Re: Imperial Road Closure and Planning Concept As Council is aware, this subdivision to the west of Coast Meridian on Imperial Avenue has been in process since early 1971. Therehas been a number of letters of approval during that time and agreement by Council to various road closure schemes. The applicant has encountered difficulties in the closure of Registry Office, who is now requiring the signature of all the owners on Rebertson Street. Toward the end of April, the applicant resubmitted a further proposal which called for no road closures and retalued Imperial Avenue as an 80 foot street, Recommendation: Committee recommends that the preplanning scheme as attached, be approved in principle and that Council agree to the lane exchange as shown on that plan and further that Lot 1 be retained in City ownership. Item II Re: 1410 Pitt River Road Some time ago we received a request from Mr. V. Arneill at 1410 Pitt River Road to purchase 16 feet from his neighbour at 1416 Pitt River Road. At the present time Mr. Arneill's residence is on a 33 foot lot and his neighbour's residence is on two 33 foot lots, I am prepared to approve this proposed subdivision because it would remove the possibility of three residences being constructed on the three 33 foot lots. However, before approval of the proposed subdivision can be granted an exemption granted by resolution of Council (in accordance with Section 712 (2) of the Municipal Act) is required to permit the creation of lots with less than 60 feet frontage, . Please accept this memorandum as a request that the Planning & Zoning Committee recommend that Council grant the necessary exemption.
