CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE A meeting of the Parks & Recreation Committee was held in the Parks & Recreation Office on March 9, 1992 at 5:00 p.m. In attendance were Alderman Mike Thompson and Alderman Michael Wright. Also in attendance was Larry J. Wheeler, Recreation klanager/Deputy Director. Item No. 1 Reeve Street Park A discussion was held regarding a proposal from the Recreation Manager/Deputy Director for staff to develop the initial set of program criteria for the Sports Pavillion. This information would be sur.:plied to the architect so that they could develop the initial set of concept drawings. Committee was comfortable with this approach. Item No. 2 Civic RecogniTion - Minor lacrosse Teams The report from the Recreation Manager/Deputy Director was reviewed by the Comm'ttee. Recommendation: It is recommended that the members of the various PoCo Minor Lacrosse teams, listed on ihe attached pages, be recognized by City Council for their successes at the Provincial Charspionships. Carried Civic Recognition - PoCo Marlin's Swim Club The report trom the Recreation Manager/Deputy Director was reviewed by the Committee. Recommendation: It is recommended that the members of the PoCo Marlins Swim Club, listed on the attached pages, be recognized by City Council for their successes at the Provincial Championships. Carried Park and Facility Tour The proposed itinerary from the March 17, 1 992 park and facility tour was reviewed. MAR -9 19~~ -2item No. 5 PoCo Buckeroos - Outstanding Balance This issue was discussed with Parks 8 Recreation Committee to ensure they were aware of the issue and to obtain input. Committee felt that the Department should actively deal with this issue and should investigate the possibility of charging interest to organizations with payments in arrears.
