THE WESTERN CANADIAN LUMBER WORKER

(Editor's note: The Lumber Worker wishes to credit the magazine FOREST INDUSTRIES—May 1968
issue for the information on sawmill production. This magazine reports that returns from companies
in the United States and Canada on production by sawmills in the two countries were the highest

ever received, with replies coming from 1,010 companies representing 1,336 mills.

The produc-

tion reported topped 27 billion board feet. “It should be remembered that the date represents only
information received by FOREST INDUSTRIES in response to questionnaires and only that informa-
tion received as of April 9, 1968. All tables were computed on that basis. However, there is an
additional list of companies whose replies were received after that date. This list is at the very

end of the listings of individual companies.”
