Deputy Engineer Andrew de Boer Project Engineer DATE: Novernber 12, 1992 As requested, the following provides answers to the questions raised by Council at the meeting of November 2, 1992: 1) There are no road flooding problems on Wilson Avenue. There have be incidents of localized ponding in front of Orchard Valley Estates on Wilson, but the problem was fixed with the installation, of catch basins in front of the apartment building, 2) Wilson Avenue would eventually be brought up to an arterial standard with the construction of the Wilson Connector in approximately 10 years time. The upgrade of Wilson Avenue to arterial status would require widening of the road to 14 mi on the 20 m right-of-way, the installation of sidewalks on both sides and street lighting. The existing ditches would also bs removed and replaced with a storm sewer system. The road alignment would not change, but the road would be raised west of 2446 Wilson where the grade appears to be low. 3) Typically condition 4 roads have a higher priority for mill and overlay than condition 5, This is because condition 5 roads are too far gone to effectively mill and overlay. It is typically more cost effective to comrpletely reconstruct a condition 5 road especially if it is heavily trafficked.
