Bus Stop at Lougheed Highway and Hastings — Bus No. 162

Recommendations:

That Council approve the request from B.C. Transit to remove bus service No.
162 from the existing bus stop located at the southeast corner of the Lougheed
Highway and Hastings Street.

Background & Comments:

The Committee considered the attached report and felt that due to:

the very low ridership at this bus stop for bus No. 162; and

due to the hazards created by bus No. 162 changing several lanes
within a short distance from this bus stop;

and due to the fact that this bus route would probably be removed
when the Kitchener realignment is made this year, the Committee

agreed with the request from B.C. Transit to discontinue requiring
bus Ne. 162 to stop at the bus stop at the Lougheed Highway and

Hastings Street.
