The price as tendered for the Zettelmeyer Model
ZL 500 is $26,995.00. The supplier has agreed to throw in
approximately $8,000.00 worth of accessory equipment for an
additional $205.00 making a total purchase price of $27,200.00
plus tax. This is more than the $21,000.00 originally budgeted
for this tractor but the difference can be made up in the
saving on the backhoe. In addition, because this new tractor
can be used with the flail mower, we would be prepared to sell
our existing 1975 Ford Tractor and would thus have one piece
of equipment less in the yard.

ITEM III

Re: Replacement of Survey Van and Shop Van

The 1972 Ford Econovan being used by one of the
survey crews has been rejected by the Motor Vehicle Testing
Branch due to excessive rust. This vehicle is no longer safe
to use as it is and the body work necessary to make it safe
is not warranted in view of the age. The 1969 Ford Van which
is currently being used by the shop as a shop vehicle is in
similar condition and would not likely pass the test if it was
taken in.

We request Council's permission to sell both of these
vans, to use the former Fire Department rescue truck as the
shop van, and to purchase a new van to replace the survey van
at an estimated cost of $7,500.00. This cost would have to
come out of the Equipment Reserve.
