comes important, and a spirit of co-operation should prevail
between potter and clay, with neither one dominating nor
restricting the other.

Integral to this philosophy was the appeal to us to make our
own clay, own tools, and to make sure that we are in charge

of what we produce.

The whole workshop lifted spirits, conveyed courage, and chal-
lenged individuals to approach porcelain with enthusiasm

and intrigue. Enough studio information was shared to make

a great beginning.

Many thanks to Harlan, and to Robin Hopper for hosting the
workshop. Robin occasionally organizes workshops in this
location and it was surprising to me not to see more familiar
faces for the lower mainland. One potter travelled from the
Yukon for this one.

RUDY AUTIO WORKSHOP - The Fraser Valley Potters Guild is spon-
soring a 3 - day workshop with this internationally acclaimed
ceramic artist, (see “American Craft" 9:80 and “Ceramics

before June 15th is $12/day or $30/3 days and $14/day or $38/
