RE: PORT COQUITLAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT ~ March 1979 House fires Damage $7,400 Alarms ringing Washed down oil spills Bush or grass fires Car Damage $4,000 Garbage containers Kitchen range No Damage Inhalator calls Patients transported Firemen attended Man hours Firemen off sick - total 29 days Volunteers paged twice Total damages - $11,400 $6,200 damage to a home caused when fat on the kitchen stove caught fire. $1,200 damage to a home when fire occurred while the owner was applying contact cement possibly started from stove pilot light. Approximately $4,000 to a car caused from faulty wiring. Most of the 22 bush or grass fires were ignited by persons unknown. 63 Inhalator calls. 41 home emergencies consisting of heart attacks, strokes, emphsema, convulsions, epileptic seizure, hemorrhaging due to recent operation, over indulgence in alcohol and falls causing injuries. Attended 14 motor vehicle accidcats, 1 sports accident, fight causing injuries, industrial accident, truck hit small boy, train hit a man walking on tracks and two overdoses.
