Background & Comments Earlier this year, a delegation appeared before Council requesting financial assistance for proposed playground equipment at Leigh Elementary School. The Council at that time, asked that the delegation meet with the Parks & Recreation Committee. We first met with Sven Urhdal, Secretary Treasurer of School District #43 and School Trustee, Doris Westrand to investigate whether an official request had come from the parents of Leigh Elementary for funding of the equipment. It was pointed out to the Committee that no official request had been made and that the Schoolboard would definitely look at some kind of assistance.
