Commercial Development at Lougieed and Westwood

The Public Information Meeting was held on July lith, 1979 at
the Westwood Elementary School.

IN ATTENDANCE:

Council Members: L.M. Traboulay (Acting Chairman)

L. Melnechenko

Developer: Troscan Realty Ltd.

No. of Area Residents: Approximately 60

The Acting Chairman opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. and explained
to the audience the purpose of the meeting. The Acting Chairman then
called upon the City Planner to give a description of the proposed
development. It was then followed by questions and comments from the
Sudience.

Relevant comments from the area residents are recorded as follows:

Traffic:
upgrading of and street lighting on Kitchener needed

~ Poor visibility and accident prone at the intersection of
Lancaster and Kitchener. Adding an access from the
proposed development to Kitchener as proposed only com-
pounding the problem.

- Inadequate holding lanes for left turns from Lougheed
at Westwood
