Council has. the. authority ae reduce ‘the charge down to $3.60 where it belongs
and . commented this was also the opinion of the City' s Solicitor. Alderman
Laking inquired why the houses: were. hooked into the City's sewer line instead
of. into that. installed. by. the. developer, and Alderman Ranger replied he could
not answer the question as the connections were made quite some time ago.
Alderman Mabbett inquired whether or not the sewer rate reduction would be
retroactive, and Alderman Ranger advised: it would not be, but would take
effect when the next notices are sent out. Alderman Mabbett commented that
he presumed these people would be made aware {hat the Council is trying te
make this. one standard sewer rate, and Alderman Ranger advised he did not

know how many properties are involved at this time.

Alderman Laking advised that he had receive a memorandum from}
Lee Kallen, the City's May Day Co-ordinator, stating that one of the
firms concerned, namely, Western. Displays, had informed him they did
wish to submit a proposal; however, the ficm of Frank Mansueto indicated an

interest. in ‘submitting a bid.
