Seniors raise funds TERRACE — A fund raising bazaar and tea sale held at the Happy Gang Centre recently was a hit with local residents. ‘‘We had a real good bazaar, lots of people turned out,’’ said Fran Lindstrom, a member of the B.C. Old Age Pensioners Organization, Branch 73, in Terrace. Lindstrom said the success was attributed to the good items for sale from donations by the public and members of the BCOAPO. Lindstrom added that the Girl Guides of Canada were quite helpful in serving the tea during the fund raising event and the Ladies of the Royal Purple prepared the sandwiches, The monies raised during the bazaar will be used for various expenses at the centre. ‘‘We really appreciated all donations,’’ commented Lindstrom, ‘‘since it’s one of the biggest ways we can earn money for ourselves,” Irene Strimbold displays one of her knitted sweaters in the bazaar, bake sale and tea, sponsored by the B.C.0.A.P.0., Branch 73 In Terrace.
