Events such as the ar-
rival of Oscar’s brother
Peter, and sisters Ester,
Oddbjorg and Anna, on
May 14, from. Norway,
highlighted the start of

the festivities. Oscar had

not seen his brother and
sisters in 58 years.
Peter was accom-
panied by his wife Mitra.
Oddbjorg and Ester were

escorted by their -
husbands, Martin and
Einer.

For the two days
which preceded the day
of celebration, relatives
from all areas of Canada
congregated in the town
of Terrace. There was a
lot of preparation in-

‘Karen,

Families reunited —

volved which was carried
out primarily by Oscar
and Rose’s children
Selma, Sandy, Lin, Ted,
Fred, and ali
their families.

The reunion party was
made up of approx-

imately 220 people. A -

dinner was held in the
banquet room of the
Terrace arena and a
dance followed with
Rose and Oscar leading
to a melody orchestrated
by the Mothballs, One of
the more memorable
highlights of the evening

‘was the sound of glass

tinkling as ,the guests
tried to persuade Oscar
to embrace his wife.

The post of master of
ceremonies was held by
two family members,
Corbin King and Jhon
Olson who provided an
entertaining look at the
past and present of Rose
and Oscar’s lives
together. This rekindled
fond memories for many

t

of those present. People
such as Tom Olson, Ken
Kerr and Adam Milne
spoke of good times with
old friends.

The dance carried on
for most of the morning
of May 17. .This was
followed by a dinner at
the Ukrainian Hall at ap-
proximately 2 p.m. All
the guests again were in-
vited to join in the
festivities.

Due to the enormous
participation the evening
before, many of the
guests were not up to a
late evening. Therefore
the dinner wrapped up
fairly early in the even-
ing. The following day, a
large breakfast was held
at Selma and Alan Ken-
nedy’s. By this time, life

had revived itself in the:

wedding party and the
breakfast carried on un-
til 11 p.m. that evening.

The following several

‘days, saw the departure

With such a large family,
it was sad to see them go
since it is difficult to br-
