November 8, 1993/343 Whereas the week of November 14th to 20th, 1993, has been designated in British Columbia as Dug Awareness Week, and in recognition thereof, communities throughort the Province are actively participating in this event; Whereas the extent of alcohol and other drug use contributes significantly to wide-ranging and serious problems for many individuals, families, businesses and communities; And whereas it is desirable that governments, at all levels, work cooperatively with community groups to increase public awareness concerning alcohol and other drug use, and to support and encourage initiatives to promote healthier iifestyles; Now therefore I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of November 14th to 20th, 1993 as: "DRUG AWARENESS WEEK” in the City of Port Coquitlam.
