City Engineer SUBJECT: DESIGNATED INTEGRATED SURVEY AREA CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM (Public Works Committee Meeting - October 29, 1991) That Council authorize the City Clerk to forward a letter to the Director of Surveys and Resource Mapping Branch of the Province of British Columbia indicating that the City of Port Coquitlam will maintain the monument network and replace any destroyed monuments as outlined in the letter dated 88-11-17 from the Director, Surveys and Resource Mapping Branch. In order for the City of Port Coquitlam to complete a computer base mapping systein a grid of control survey monuments is required. The Province of British Columbia has an "Integrated Survey System" program where by the Province maintains a central register of all survey control monuments for British Columbia. The municipality is responsible for the installation and maintenance of these monuments. In order to designate the City of Port Coquitlam as an Integrated Survey Area, the Ministry of Lands and Parks requires a resolution from Council agreeing to maintain the survey monuments as shown in the attached letter from the Ministry of Lans and Parks. Once Port Coquitlam is designated as an integrated survey control area, then the City Engineering Department will work with the Ministry staff to develop a program for installing the survey monuments based on an agreed grid pattem.
