SUBJECT: Purchase of emergency vehicle

RECOMMENDATION:

1) That the puechage of a fhavrolet Police Special, 4-door Sedan from Flag
Chev-Olds be authorized at a4 cost of $19,016.43.

That emergency lighting ard radio be inatalled by Anderson Engineering at
a cost of $2,100 be authorized.

3) That the monies be taken from the Fire Department Equipment Reserve Fund.

BACKGROUNDS _& COMMENTS:

VEHICLE HISTORY - The Mechanic Foreman Mr. Joe Huber recommended that the vehicle

be replaced in 1985. In 1987 the car received $2,700.00 worth of damage in a
motor vehicle accident. Theicsr leake, it is unreliable, and it is not cost “4
effective.

QUOTATION REVIEW - The Mechanic Foreman states that the vehicle meets all
specifications, and agrees with Mr. fT. Day's recommendation to take the low bid
from Flag Chev-Olds Ltd. The Protective Services Committee has reviewed the
background material and concurs with the recommendation.

There are sufficient funds in the
, Fire Dept. Equipment Reserve Fund.
