Dear Sirs

Re: Proposal for Consulting Services |
Maple Creek Internal Drainage Study

Further to your recent telephone request, we are pleased to submit a proposal
for the engineering services required to complete the Maple Creek Internal
Drainage Study. Our proposal is outlined as follows:

1.0 SCOPE OF PROJECT

The City of Port Coquitlam has requested Associated Engineering +o
submit a proposal for the engineering services required to determine
the storm drainage requirements for the catchment area which drains
into Maple Creek. In recent months drainage problems and Flooding of
local businesses has occurred in this drainage area. [his Flooding was
likely due to nigh water levels on the Coquitlam fiver coupled with
heavy runoff from the rainfall in this drainage area.

As increased development takes place in this drainage area the threat
of flooding will increase due to greater runoff and reduced storage in
the area surrounding Maple Creek. The dykes, currently under
construction along the banks of the Coquitlam River include a Floodbox
at Maple Creek. This dyking and floodbox system reduce the risk of
flooding from the Coquitlam River, however flooding behind the dykes
may still occur due to runoff generated in the Maple Creek catchment.

Although the Maple Creek floodbox is located in the District of
Coquitlam, most of the runoff is generated within the City of Port

Coquitlam.
