City Enaineer Dear Sirs: Re: Port Coquitlam Trunk Sewer — Cedar Section In reply to your letter dated September 18, 1990 regarding the design of the existing 1060mm (42") diameter G.V.S.&D.D. trunk sewer, please find enclosed a mark-up of a portion of our Fraser Sewerage Area map showing the area tributary to this trunk. This trunk is designed to service the northern portion of Port Coquitlam and, by future extension, the northeast sector of Coquitlam. The routing of this future extension will be determined in consultation with yourselves and the District of Coquitlam. Please note that the design of the existing trunk sewer did not include the area within the Agricultural Land Reserve (RRL-3) as highlighted in green. This area lies outside the Fraser Sewerage Area boundary. In regard to your future servicing plans for the Northeast sector of Port Coquitlam, the G.V.S.&D.D. requires a formal request from the City of Port Coquitlam to include areas presently not within the Fraser Sewerage Area boundary. Since the proposed boundary expansion area was not considered when the G.V.S.&D.D. facilities serving Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Port Coquitlam were designed, a reassessment of these downstream facilities by the District will be necessary. All additional capital and operating costs associated with the up-grading of our facilities, required to accommodate the boundary expansion, need to be determined. A recommendation to our Administration Board regarding this boundary expansion would include our assessment of the way in which facility up-grading costs should be apportioned and which costs should be borne by the City of Port Cc~uitlam. In the interim, we will commence a re—-assessment of the trunk sewer capacity based on the data you have provided. secede ITEM | PAGE Ob lw,
