Recommendation:

That the City agree to the installation of traffic signal
at the intersection of Broadway and the Mary Hill Bypass on the

Backaqround and Comments

The attached correspondence on this subject summarizes the
events feading up to the recommendation currently placed before
Council for consideration. | would caution Council however
that while the Ministry of Highways! estimate for the City's
share of the signalization works is $20,000, in al! likelihood

t will be $25,000 if the cost charged to the City for the

signalization of the Kingsway and Mary Hill Bypass intersection
$s used as a comparisons

The Committee recognizes the safe problems associated
with venicles entering and exiting the Meridian Industrial Park
as development continues. Therefore it is recommended that the
proposed signalization works at the intersection of Broadway
and the Mary Hill Bypass be approved as a 1988 Public Works

Capital Project.
