BURKE MOUNTAIN NATURALISTS

That the City support the Burke Mountain Naturalists request to the Province that they include
Burke Mountain, Widgex: “éalley and Pitt Lake area in their park study area.

The Provincial Government is planning to undertake a study for creating and expanding
Provincial Parks in the Province. The Burke Mountain Naturalists wish the Provincial
Government to include all of Burke Mountain, Widgen Valley and Pitt Lake areas in their
proposed study. | |

Mr. Mark Haddock of the Burke Mountain Naturalists presented his study entitled "Our
Backyard Wilderness" to the Environmental Protection Committee on March 25, 19¢2 and the
Committee recommends Council support the Burke Mountain Naturalists request to the Province.

Attached is a map outlining the general area that the Burke Mountain Naturalists would like to
see added to the Provincial park study. | |
