That as recommended by the Building and Protection Committee, March 17th, 1978 concurrence be given to the recommendation for siting contained in the "Future Library Requirements" report prepared by the City Administrator under the date of November, 1977, Item 6 on page 2 of the Report; being the Northwest corner of Wilson Avenue and Mary Hill Road. Aldermen Laking and Keryluk voted against the resolution. Prior to passage of the above noted resolution a short .discussion ensued on the possible locations for a future library. From the Building and Protection Committee, March 17th, 1978 recommending concurrence with the recommendation for a referendum as mentioned in the "Future Library Requirements" report prepared by the City Administrator under the date of November, 1977, Item 9 on page 3 of the Report and that the referendum be held in the Spring of 1980. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That as recommended by the Building and Protection Committee, March 17th, 1978 concurrence be given to the recommendation for a referendum as mentioned in the "Future Library Requirements" report prepared by the City Administrator under the date of November, 1977 Item 9 on page 3 of the Report$ AND THAT the Building and Protection Committee recommends that the 1980 Council hold the referendum in Spring, 1980. Alderman Ranger suggested that the Building and Protection Committee work with the Friends of the Library on the future proposed library and he stated that with the change of the Aldermen on the Committee every year Council is kept informed of the future library plans. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the Building and Protection Committee and representatives of the Friends of the Library constitute the Library Building Committee. . Carried. or, Alderman Traboulay suggested that an appropriate sign be posted on the future Library site to inform people of the proposed library to be intilt there.
