Some weeks ago & local nimrod wen out ta Rosswood for the week end and came back to town with a glowing ae- count of his hunt. He told the vest of the tale, The Ter- race mn during his morning seont, knocked down a goose, Said goose awit ashore and hid in the bush. He then hit a couple of ducks, They also fook to the jungle. A few hours later George Billa met the disconsolate hunter and listened to his tale of woe. George found out where the birds had landed, went home and got his gum huots, also his cocker spaniel. He got to the place where the goose landed and turned his dog Joose and it was not long before the goose apperred in the apon. The goose renched the wat- er with the dog after it. They had a merry scrap and -the dog was knocked con-cn0 hy a slap from the pooge's wing. George’ put a shot in; the, bird and the deg dragged it ashore. Then the dag and his owner turned their. attention: to ‘the: ducks and .-the dog} soon tind thé birds.” The three birds | were turned over to the Terrace man and the.
