Re: Mary Hill Bypass/Mary Hill Road, Port Coquitlam

Thank you for your letter of November 15, 1993 requesting installation of a traffic
signal at above intersection.

In order to afford equitable treatment for all requests for traffic signalization, the
Ministry follows a system of warrants. These warrants are based primarily on the
physical configuration of the intersection, motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic
volumes, accident experience, and network considerations,

To evaluate the warrants in this case, my staff will investigate traffic operations at —

the intersection and take a count of motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic volumes. |

will contact you with the results of that investigation when it is completed in about

one month. |
