City Engineer SUBJECT: UNDERGROUNDING OF HYDRO LINES — REEVE STREET PARR (Public Works Cowmittee Meeting of November 27, 1990) Recommendations: 1. That the City of Port Coquitlam make an application for a grant in the amount of $40,000.00 under the B.C. Hydro Beautification Program for undergrounding existing overhead hydro distribution lines through Reeve Street Park. Background & Discussion: The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum from the Project Engineer regarding the cost of un¢ergrounding the three phase power which runs through Reeve Street Park. The basic costs for placing the power lines underground was estimated to be $100,000.00. At a Reeve Street Park planning workshop held on December 12, 1990, it was recommended that an additional $20,000.00 be added to the $100,000.00 basic cost to accommodate future developments in the Reeve Street Park. Under the B.C. Hydro beautification project program, B.C. Hydro would contribute $40,000.00 towards the $120,000.00 project if the grant application is approved.
