A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The .Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on September 27th, 1982 at 7:30 p.m. Acting/Mayor Alderman E.W. Mabbett, Aldermen M.D. Gates, G.R. Laking, A.K.ยป Muldoon, D.3. Vater, and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer B.R. Kirk, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng-, City Treasurer 9.G.S. Maitland, Director of Community Planning W. Brown and Recording Secretary D. Vyse. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Muldoon: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the minutes of the regular Council meeting held on September 20th, 1982, be taken as read and adopted. Larried. DELEGATION: Alderman Mabbett advised representatives from the Ministry of the Attorney-General were present to make a presentation to the Council regarding the proposed new Justice Building and Remand Centre. Mr. Frank Rhodes, Assistant Deputy Minister referred to the architect's model outlining the concept of the proposed Justice Building and Remand Centre; Architect Mr. Jim Barnum of Carlberg, Jackson, Partners, outlined the design requirements. Mr. Rhodes then answered inquiries from the Council regarding the staffing and security for the proposed Justice Complex. Mr. Bernard Robinson, Commissioner of Corrections, Mr. Abe Newfield, Regional Manager of Corrections, Mr. Roy Pettit, Regional Manager of Court Services, and Mr. Brian May, British Columbia Building Corporation were also present to provide further information.
