Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That as recommended by the Leisure Activities Committee, October 20th, 1978 the request from Gordon Mathewson to run a Skate-a-rama for the Variety Club on December 29th and 30th, 1978, be approved; THAT the City give free ice time for the Skate-a-rama on December 29th and 30th, 1978; THAT the City provide regular rink patrol for the event; THAT the concession run by the Recreation Department sell all the drinks and the Variety Club sell all the food items out of the Playground Huts; THAT the City provide and move the Playground Huts free of charge; THAT the City handle the skate rentals; AND THAT the City arrive at an agreed upon admission charge. Thompson re Garbage Pick-up (odd-si ze items) on Dominion Avenue on the weekend and asked that the R.C.M.P. be notified. Alderman Ranger advised By-law No. 1630 to amend the "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918" is now ready for third reading. Alderman Thompson referred to the possibility of sanitation crews picking up odd-size items on regular garbage days and asked that the Public Works Committee look into this further.
