Comm.re ice a schedule of ice requirements for various organizations. schedule, conflict wit A further report was received from the Parks & Recreation Committee, Church times etc. December 9th, 1974 concerning a letter received from the Port Coquitlam Ministerial Association, December 2nd, 1974 accompanied by a copy of a letter dated December 2nd, 1974 to the Port Coquitlam Recreation Commission wherein the following resolution was set forth: "Whereas numerous parents have complained to various clergymen concerning the present scheduling of children's hockey practice sessions and games; And whereas new schedules will be drawn up in contemplation of the opening of the new rink, such new schedules to govern the use of both rinks; We, the Port Coquitlam Ministerial Association, recommend that it be established policy that, organized or scheduled hockey for children be held at times other than between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Sundays." Pastor J. Rowse, representing the Ministerial Association, was in attendance at the meeting and spoke in support of the views expressed in the letters from the Association. Alderman Ranger pointed out that there appears to be additional ice time available that could be utilized in re~arranging the schedule so that it would not conflict with Church times, and suggested that a meeting be held to try and resolve the problem. Representatives of the Minor Hockey Association were also in attendance and it was pointed out that prime time for hockey is on weekends as coaching, etc., is all undertaken on a volunteer basis.
