February 4th, 1972. Tes The Mayor and Aldermen From: L.DB. Pollock, City Administrator. mo, FES - 7 197 be a oe re i 1. Local Initiative Programe: ~ Poco Trail I have attached a copy of a letter from the Federal Government which advises thet the sum of $7,605.00 has been approved as a total federal contribution to the Poco Trail project. This letter and some accompanying terms and conditions require signature by the City and the Federal Government before the work can commence. This project application was submitted on behalf of the Poco Trail Organ- ization and they are quite enthusiastic about making use of these funds to complete the trail project. We have had preliminary meetingswith them and it is intended that the group will hire its own personnel, the City will handle the recording of payroll and the project will be co-ordinated through our Engineering Department. . If the project proceeds according’ to the budget submitted by the Poco Trail members the City's contribution to the project would be approximately $3,000.00. We have included in our Provisional Budget the sum of $5,000.00 towards this pro- ject and I would recommend that this be left as the provision’in order that we may be adequately covered. At this time I would like a resolution of the Council authorizing signing of the Agreement with the Federal Government and approving the inclusion of the $5,000.00 in the budget to cover the City's share of this project. 2. Motor Vehicle Issuing Hours: We will be setting up additional counter space in the Court Room to handle the Motor Vehicle rush during the month of February. The Motor Vehicle Branch has written to us and advised that all issuing offices will remain open from 8:30 until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26th, 1972 and requesting that the City of Port Seay ney, estateany aides Coquitlam keep similar hours. We have followed the Provincial hours in the past and I would recommend that we remain open on February 26th as requested, ae City Administrator.
