Made of Clay 2002, May3-5 Off to a Good Start You folks may have noticed that there were applications sent out in last month's newsletter, Because of the holiday schedule | wasn't able to have this written in time for the deadline back in December but was able to squeak the applications in at the last minute. | wanted you to have the applications as soon as possible. One note before | go any further is that on the applications it doesn’t mention table rentals. Rest assured there will be tables for rent. The fee will be the same as last year and all your favorite sizes will be available. Just write on the bottom of the application how many tables of what length (4°, 6°, anc 8°) that you will require. This will give me an idea of how many tables to order. 1 will then collect for the tables at the show. Sorry if this canses any confusion. Rentals are off to a good start. Within a few days of the newsletter’s mailing, | started to receive phone calls and completed applications. 1 am expecting the best spaces to go fast so don"t hesitate to fill out your application. If you need a new one, | can send you one via cmail of you can pick one up from the Gallery of BC Ceramics. The completed application and cheques made payable to the Potters Guild of BC (PGBC) are mailed to Made of Clay c/o The Gallery of BC Ceramics, 1359 Cartwright Street, Granville Island, Vancouver, BC V6H 3R7. This year we will be paying a few extra dollars to have the tech at Performance Works focus the lights on the individual booths. This will mean that everyone will have the best possible lighting. Advertising will follow much of what we did for Made of Clay at Christmas. The only difference is that we will be targeting the False Creek area and not the Yaletown district. We will still nan ads in the Georgia Straight and the Courier. We will again be showing an ad at the Fifth Avenue theatres and will place an ad in The Creek newspaper. Posters and posteards will of course be printed. Now that | have a better idea of the timetable for these details, [°ll be able to have everything done a little ahead of schedule so that we get as much exposure as possible. The very first volunteer position needed is for someone to take on the task of organizing our free advertising. This includes all the free calendar of events listings in the newspapers, on the radio, TV and Internet and any other place that takes free listings. Let me know if you are interested in this detail. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact me, Thanks Jim Stamper or @M.876.9287 President's Report Happy 20472. And may all your posting dreams come true.
