' “s Celebratory send-off

UPLANDS ELEMENTARY said goodbye to two of its
teachers last week, Melayne Gough is retiring after seven
years at Uplands and Irma Brewer after 14 years, The
school planted two Japanese Maple trees in their memory,
and Freeman Vesta Douglas proclaimed it Mrs, Gough and
Mrs. Brewer Day. Above is Melayne Gough in the forefront,

THE DUTCH VOICES, a 140
voice choir from the Netherlands,
is coming to Terrace as part of a
10th anniversary tour,

The choir has toured all over
the warld, from South Africa to
New Zealand, and offers a wide
variety of inspirational songs,
choral works and instrumental

pieces.
Singing is a hobby for most of
the choir members, but the

soloists and instrumentalists are
all professionals and are well
known from Dutch T.V, and
radio performances. Conductor
Lock van der Leeden leads the
ensemble.

The choir will be performing on
Saturday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m, at
the Pentecostal Assembly.

Admission is free, and a free
will offering will be held.

But in order to come here, the
large choir urgently needs billets.

What’s involved is picking up
your guests at the Pentecostal As-
sembly in the afternoon on Satur-
day, July 29, feeding them supper
and bringing them back to the
church that evening for the per-
formance. The next day the
choir’s schedule is breakfast,
worship service, warm Iunch and
they are dropped off at the church
that afternoon.
