FRANCOPHONE SCHOOL GOVERNANCE This year, Francophone school governance should be implemented from Victoria to Chilliwack. During the implementation process, training sessions for future trustees, information session for partners in education as well as a tour for consultation and information with parents. RECRUITING : A KEY PRIORITY Recruiting is still a priority for the Association. Advertising campaign, a recruiting kit, newspaper articles, weekly radio interviews, specific information or brochure for mixed mariages and for new parents will be released throughout the year. SUPPORT FOR PARENTS COMMITTEES Everywhere in BC, parents committees try to enrich the quality of education in Programme cadre de frangais classes. A.P.F.C.B. will give them training sessions and continuous support. In fall, the Association’s coordinators will visit each parents committee to stay closer to their everyday reality. EDUCATION IN FRENCH FOR THE VERY YOUNG Offering preschool education in French is fundamental for Francophone kids. The Association will keep on developing Tire Lire, the resource centre for preschool age children and will support parents to establish French preschool services. CULTURE IN THE CLASSROOM A new French curriculum which takes into account our French heritage in BC and our different cultures will probably be released in January. This new curriculum will help to develop proudness and a stronger identity for the kids involved in the programm. A Forum will be held later this year on that topic.
